HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Parks Division/Recycle Center
The Town of Medway, Department of Public Works, seeks qualified candidates for the full-time Grounds Worker/Heavy Equipment Operator/Skilled Laborer position, maintaining recreation fields, the recycling center, school grounds, parks, and open spaces. The schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday, 37 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
The position primarily involves grounds and landscape functions, including handwork with the use of manual and powered hand tools. Performs skilled labor and related work incidental to assigned tasks. Drives and operates assigned motor equipment per all applicable regulations and safety practices.
Qualifications:
High School diploma; two (2) years of qualified experience as a construction/grounds’ maintenance equipment operator or equivalent, including heavy motor equipment operation; valid Massachusetts Class B Commercial Driver’s License with air-brake endorsement. Hoisting Engineer’s Licenses are required to operate a complete line of department equipment and must possess a good driving record.
The Town of Medway offers in-house training to obtain CDL and Hoisting Licenses and is willing to train the right candidate. Licenses would be required within 6 months of employment.
